Should Inhumane Treatment Be Legalized For National security?

Today ,I am here with two quotes on me...

The 1st one by Albert Pike which says,“Above all things let us never forget that mankind constitutes one great brotherhood; all born to encounter suffering and sorrow, and therefore bound to sympathize with each other”

And the other one.. i'll reveal after a moment.. once i have metioned the quote...

here it goes...

''I, was forced to run and crawl bare feet on sharp gravel stone''

''I, was made to carry 80kgs of stone on my shoulder and walk up and down the stairs while getting beaten at the same time''

''I was allowed to go to washroom ONLY once in 24 hours''

''I was beaten by the handle of the pistol on my mouth which fractured my 12 teeth''

''I was kept in a small room suffocated with smoke....... ''

This....is the oral statement by Mr Hussien Osman, an Oromo national, in the 45th UN committee on 2nd november, 2010

And arguably and undoubtedly are true...

With this, people advocating 'anything and everything' for the name sake of national security went numb. The old belief that harsh behaviour towards a criminal can change him..was shattered..

It is said that there are two levers to set a man in motion : fear and self interest. criminals cannot be justified on basis of self interest so fear is used as a weapon for the same.. If you tend to think logically and more on practical grounds using inhumane acts as weapons against crime and criminals wil only lead to violation of the human rights. It will deliberately inflict pain and suffering to the concerned

Father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi too backed that we should hate crime and not criminals. All we need today is a crime free society to preserve and safeguard the security of our nation. and for this..the criminals are to be motivated and guided in the right pathway rather than inflicting more rage and revenge by acting inhumane towards them.

Torture is one of the most widely used inhuman act against criminals. More on the factual part,if we go through the top 10 countries with highest crime rates which includes india as well, you will find not a single country which has torture as a legalized part of law..this makes the fact, that inhuman acts are no solution to crime and threats to national security more evident.

Inhumane activities are crimes against humanity .Also inhumane practices like denial of food, physical abuse, sexual assault, torture, imprisonment, mental harm are against our moral values and human tendency. I strongly believe that inhumane acts and practices shud not be permissible..be it for national security or any other reasons Those who condone such practices not only are acting unconstitutionally but undermine the moral foundation upon which this nation was founded.

A crime free society by practicing values like unity, integrity, brotherhood and love are the things .. ..: necessary for national security...today, tomorrow, ever and forever
