I wake up in the morning
To the melody of birds very dear,
And wonder where I would be in future
And would there be birds chirping any near.
I walk down the lane in summer
Thanking trees for their pleasant shade,
And wonder what will happen later
For I know the greenery is soon going to fade.
I, in eve, stroll through the park
Breathing air so fresh and pure,
And shiver when I think of my children
With oxygen on their backs for sure.
I walk alone, tired and timid
And see daisies dance my way,
Comes relaxing smile and then a frown
Perplexed, in future, will they ever sway.
I sit beside a blue bright lake
And see fishes swim hence and forth,
Their radiant colours compels me to think
When will we realise their worth.
This planet is not a gift my friend
We’ve borrowed it from future generations,
Let’s keep it clean and save the green
And preserve and repair all imperfections.
Let’s all come together and all come along
And revere our Mother Nature,
Come lend some hands and plant some trees
And ensure a better future.
